Services we offer

Accountancy Management Services Limited is a firm of Chartered Accountants dedicated to the provision of professional services to individuals and businesses of all sizes.

The services we provide range from accountancy and taxation (both personal and corporate) to more specialist areas such as ICAEW registered audit work and HM Revenue and Custom investigations. Whichever service you require, you can be sure of getting dedicated assistance coupled with innovative ideas.

At AMS, we like to take a pro-active role in our clients’ financial affairs. Rather than waiting until the end of the financial year (and beyond) before tackling your assignment, we prefer to monitor your financial activities on an ongoing basis. This allows us the opportunity of providing skilled practical planning and advice to enable you to implement financial transactions in the most efficient manner. For example, simply by delaying or bringing forward contributions to a pension plan, you could obtain optimal relief for taxation purposes.

Our Services

Business start ups / Company Incorporation

The choice of a business format and structure is crucial in ensuring that it achieves its ultimate goals. At AMS we can advise you on which type of business entity is most appropriate for any individual circumstances. Of course, it is necessary to consider the tax-implications of any business structure, but this should not be the only consideration. We are able to assist with any appropriate registrations that you may require, for example HM Revenue & Customs, VAT, CIS and PAYE. If you decide to incorporate your business as a limited company, we can arrange for the company to be registered with Companies House and also explain the duties and responsibilities of being a company director, and the implications of being a shareholder.

Audit and Accountancy

All businesses have to produce financial accounts, usually on an annual basis, which have to be filed at Companies House.

Larger organisations may require an audit; this is usually dependent on their size but is subject to several exclusions. Most small private limited companies don’t need an audit of their annual accounts – unless the company’s articles of association say it must or enough shareholders ask for one.

In addition, whilst carrying out these services, very often we find that we are able to provide constructive advice for improvement to clients systems which may lead to cost savings and increases in efficiency.

Taxation

We constantly monitor changes in legislation as we understand the important link between both personal and business tax. It is therefore vital that we consider all aspects of taxation for our clients, and do not concentrate on any single area that in isolation may be beneficial, but may have an overall detrimental effect.

For many individuals, the completion of their self-assessment tax return form is something they are reluctant to tackle, therefore AMS strives to ensure the process is as easy as possible, informing you of all tax liabilities you may have and when they are due for payment.

VAT

If you are already VAT registered, we can monitor your business on a regular basis, so that we can complete your VAT returns on your behalf. We can also advise if you would be better off opting for a different VAT scheme, such as Flat Rate.

If you are planning to register for VAT voluntarily, or are approaching the VAT threshold, we can advise on the best course of action, provide you with comprehensive guidance on what needs to be done, and complete the necessary forms on your behalf.

Book-keeping

All businesses need to maintain accounting records (the more detailed the better), allowing yearend financial accounts to be produced quickly and efficiently. For limited companies, there are statutory requirements as to the content of the accounting records that should be maintained. We at AMS are able to carry out the necessary book-keeping activities your business requires and organise your accounting records in an appropriate manner that will satisfy all Companies Act and HM Revenue & Customs requirements. We can also combine the preparation of your accounting books with the completion of your quarterly VAT returns, which will make the year end accounts production process more efficient.

Payroll

As part of our service to clients, we are able to prepare payrolls on their behalf. Based on your instructions, we will calculate each employee’s net pay and your PAYE and National Insurance liability to HM Revenue & Customs, provide you with a payslip, and submit information to Revenue & Customs so as to comply with their RTI (Real Time Information) filing obligations.  In addition, we will produce all end of year forms, such as P60 and P11D. We can also deal with the paperwork in relation to new employees and employees leaving.

Forensic Accounting and Litigation Support

This area of investigative work is a speciality of AMS. Typically, this work involves the presentation of loss of profits connected with an insurance claim, for example as a result of a personal injury. Previous assignments have included matters such as matrimonial disputes, professional negligence claims, contractual disputes, consequential loss, arbitration and fraud. We are able to produce detailed yet concise reports, which calculate a realistic and objective assessment of importance, suitable for service in court proceedings that can be understood by a person who is not a financial expert. At AMS we have experience of attending Court and providing expert witness evidence in support of our clients claim.

Company Secretarial

At AMS, we are able to ensure that companies and their directors meet the ever-changing requirements of company legislation. In addition to the routine administrative work that goes with running a limited company, such as the filing of accounts and the completion of your confirmation statement, we are also able to provide advice on matters such as company structure, the sale and purchase of shares, the appointment and resignation of director’s, and so on.
